Nebulae - The Cradle of Cosmic Life?

This film was created in the intention to cover one potentially complex and difficuilt topic in less than 4 minutes and it's purpose is to raise interest in people on a very controversial and unpopular idea that just emerged form "totally absurd" in the late 70ties to "potentially yes" in the last decade - the name of the idea is "Panspermia", and to make it even more controversioal: There are theories that Life on Earth is no exception at all, and it is part of the natural process of pansperia in the universe. It takes a hook to get attention to this topic as it's not the most important one in the field of space exploration and surely by far not the most obious one when you want to just have some minutes of relaxation and productive distraction. The video "took off" (in classic youTube talk) within the first 24 hours and the feedback I get on Discord tells me that people end up having a new insight and feel positively engaged to search for more interesting science videos - potantially for more in-depth, more serious long form content. Mission accomplished!

Starting a new endeavour on YouTube has never been an easy thing. I have set up, grew and eventually sold channels for a good time of my career as an artist and after all, I wanted to create one that is not focussed on monetization, CTRs, and potential resale value but one that I can use to try new things in visual effects on my most loved topic: space and science. This channel is going to be a permanent fusion space for testing new ideas and mixing content ideas in order to .... see what happens. I am currently testing sheer science fact shorts and mid-form videos with music and also fictional stories. This compund mass of actually heterogenous topics would not survive in a challenging world of YouTube channels that are all focussed on a narrow topic and keen to max out monetization on AdSense or third party income streams. I made a ton of videos about all that myself and I am intentionally doing it all wrong now - for the sake of just being able to do what I want. As mentioned - it is a personal playground and currently, it pays me more joy to working on this than setting up another "How-To" or "Court Fights" channel and spending my heart blood on such things.

I put this up here on Behance because I know many of my fellow vfx, video and design friends have no room for such a hobby or simply need a source of inspiration for their own works. Being retired form the hazzle of daily project work, and knowing the stress for almost 4 decades in commercial work, I hope that you can find some happy, informational or just entertaining moments in your spare-time on this cannel and I encourage you to comment, and let me know what you think. I am always keen to get to know new people and I believe that this channel is one way to find interesting topics that professionals can kick-start a chat about.

Again: This project for me is not about revenue streams and all that, but about the joy of trying new things and talking about them. So don't be scared for falling for a click bait :-)
